Allen Young
Allen Young is the founder and principal designer of Graylynn Designs. A High Point, North Carolina native, Allen earned his degree in Furniture Design from Kendall College of Art & Design in Grand Rapids, Michigan, before returning home to the Furniture Capital of the World to pursue his passion for designing residential furniture.
Allen believes exceptional furniture is Timeless by Design. His work is guided by thoughtful proportions, purposeful functionality, and meticulous attention to detail—creating pieces that are not only beautiful, but comfortable, practical, and built to endure.
His design philosophy is rooted in creating furniture designed beyond trends. Rather than chasing what's popular today, Allen focuses on developing collections with lasting character and broad consumer appeal—pieces that feel fresh in the moment while remaining relevant for years to come.
Drawing inspiration from architecture, travel, nature, and historical design, Allen's signature approach is best described as Classic with a Twist.
